Allergy Friendly Range
A food allergy is when the immune system reacts to a substance (allergen) in food which is usually harmless (e.g. Eggs, Fish, Milk, Peanut, Sesame, Shellfish, Soy, Tree Nuts and Wheat). This results in the production of allergy antibodies which are proteins in the immune system then identify and react with foreign substances.
An allergic reaction is when someone can develop symptoms following exposure to an allergen, such as hives, swelling of the lips, eyes or face, vomiting or wheeze.
Allergic reactions range from mild to severe. Anaphylaxis is the most severe form of allergic reaction.
